Logan, W Va,, Nov 11 Sid Woody, jr , to-day made a confession of Implication In the murder of Coon Conley, which occurred near here a few Weeks ago Woody's father was sentenced to life im prisonment this week for the murder. The Woodys shot Conley to death from ambush because he had testified against them before a grand Jury

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 1905

Wheeling. W. Va.. Nov. 14.—Sidney Woody, jr.. confessed to-day that he murdered Coon Conley, a crime for which his father was recently convicted. The young man told Judge Wilkinson that he himself ambushed and \shot Conley. The elder Woody was 'arrested with five others, charged with the crime, and convicted. • In his confession to the court, young Woody said he did not think his father would have any difficulty proving his innocence, hence his not having said anything at the time of the trial. __ Judge Wilkinson will look into the matter, and if the young man's story is true, 'will have the father pardoned and Indictments drawn against the son. The killing was the result of an old feud.


James (Coon) Conley was the son of Oliver and Sophia Ward Conley. He was married to Hester Ratliff.
