LOGAN, Jan. 26 (AP).—Monroe Conley, a former constable, was convicted of second degree murder of his second cousin, Harry Conley, and sentenced to 10 years in the state penitentiary. Monroe Conley was serving as constable in the Chapmansville district last August when he killed Harry in try ing to arrest him on a charge of drunkeness. The state charged he was "an overbearing officer," that he was afraid of Harry Conley and shot him needlessly. The former constable contended his pistol fired accidentally while he was struggling with his cousin. The sentence was passed by Judge Naaman Jackson in the Logan county circuit court.
