We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you into our virtual home on the web, and to provide you with some information about the Penticton Flying Club while you are here......

We are a group of British Columbia pilots, and others interested in aviation, with our clubhouse at the Penticton Regional Airport (CYYF), who are brought together through a deep love of aviation, and private general aviation flying. We are a non-training flying club, getting together regularly for social events and meetings. We hold our monthly meetings on the second Tuesday of each month beginning at 19:30. At most meetings we have a guest speaker talking of some aspect of aviation that is of interest to all our members. If you are a pilot, or are otherwise interested in aviation, we welcome you to drop in to one of our meetings, and meet our members. You are also very welcome to join our club at any time....we have one of the lowest yearly dues in the area at only $30.

During the better flying weather from April until October, weather permitting, our members arrive at the club around 17:00 and we do some local flying together, and then return to a BBQ dinner, and some other 'refreshments' before our business meeting. This format has proved to be very popular among our members, and has proved to be a strenghtening force within our club.

Penticton is located in the beautiful Okanagan Valley of south central British Columbia, Canada. We are boarded by majestic mountains on the east and west, and by Lake Okanagan to the north, and Skaha Lake to the south. Our airport is serviced commercially by Air BC with 4 scheduled flights each day to/from Vancouver. Our runway is 16/34, and is 6000' by 148' of asphalt with lights for night activity. There is a localizer approach to runway 34, and PAPI lighting on both runways, 16 and 34. We have a NavCanada Flight Service Station, and had a Canada Customs office on the field, up until the tragic events of Septemebr 11. We hope that it will re-open at some time in the future. The newly opened Flight Deck Cafe, in the terminal building, serves excellent food, at reasonable prices.
