STILL CRAZY AFTER ALL THESE YEARS!

"Bye, Bye, Miss American Pie…. Sing along but don't choke on that sphaggetti!"

April 2001 and there I was singing in the gymnasium of the school next door for a Rotarians Fund Raiser.  Did a little Medley of English (Beatles), Irish (Van Morrison), and American (Don McLean) tunes followed by .. 'Now' from the 'Jester' album.

As 2002 dawns I'm still writing songs and making music. (Helped more than a little by the purchase of an Alesis QS7 keyboard) It's great!! Over the summer of 2001 I led a Creative Arts group in which we had the crazy idea of putting the PC (USA) Shorter Confession of Faith to music. ('The Confession' was the Summer Camp theme for the year). It has to be said… Confessions of Faith are not renown for their instant accessibility. Thanks to a great group of kids the thing turned out pretty good… and I hope to do something else with it.

My newest toy is a spanking new 16 Track Digital Recorder. In the process of moving from Britain to the U.S. I had sold most of my gear.. And it's taking a while to replace it all. But this little baby seems a good deal all round.. Mixer, Effects, CD Recorder all in the one little box. It taking a while to get into it but I'm learning!

My first attempts at recording haven't been wonderfully impressive, but it's early days as yet. Alongside the Korg, having long jettisoned the trusty Atari, I now wrestle with Steinbergs' Cubase VST on my Windows Computer. The days of Fostex and Atari were definitely easier.. And produced far less Crashes and hair tearing out… but.. Hey.. I'm no spring chicken any more
