No
One Was There
The seal is broken,
The rug is pulled out.
Her life now filled with doubt-
All for his sin.
The places where she felt safe
Are now a disillusion,
Always on the run;
Tryin' to lose his face.
She can still feel his breath,
She can feel as he pushed against her,
Her innocence severed-
Her trust faces death.
Down comes the wall,
She can feel the blood trickle down,
All the while no one's aroun'
And she remembers the smell of alcohol.
Now she hides in corners,
Shrinks back when others come near,
Silent screams is all she hears-
All because no one was there to save her.
She stays quiet now,
Never sure if her life is real,
Everything seems so surreal
And all she wonders is how.
She stares at her reflection,
And doesn't see herself.
Her life goes on a shelf,
Her true self she shuns.
Her image of the world
Has been shattered,
She wonders what matters,
When her life has come unfurled.
The sun still shines a light,
But for her, it will never be the same,
For she thinks she's to blame-
And her heart stays in the night.
Her world is broken,
As is she,
All because of he,
All because of his sin.
Her heart is in ruin,
Her soul is dying,
She can't stop crying,
All because of his sin.
Who will show her the light?
Who will mend her broken heart?
Can it be pulled from the dark?
Will she regain her sight?
No one listened to her call,
This is not her fate-
Save her before its too late,
Before she ends it all.
