Eight House, Part 2

Level 3: The Eight House School - Part 2

The term "star" in Feng Shui actually means specified Qi. One inherent certainty is that Qi is closely related to life. Therefore, although each star belongs to one of the five elements, a star should not be treated as an object such as a tree, a piece of metal, a body of water, the plasma of fire, or a lump of soil. A star must be regarded as an entity that has life. The stars have human characteristics.

The 8 Wandering Stars created by changing the lines of the house trigram have their individual characteristics suggested by the names chosen.

[1] Sheng Qi - The Number 1 Fortunate Star. The name implies that it is at the beginning stage of life. It is full of vibrant energy. This energy is essential in taking a positive attitude towards life. With this at the main entrance of the house the people in the house will be more positive, hard working, and capable of creating wealth and establishing a relationship. This star is Wood in nature.

[2] Tian Yi - The Number 2 Fortunate Star. The name implies that it is the Heavenly Doctor. It takes care of the health of people. This includes physical health and mental health. It means that it will bring fortune to the people starting with a healthy body and mind. This star is Earth in nature.

[3] Yan Nian - The Number 3 Fortunate Star. The name means Prolonged Years or Longevity. It is obviously having something to do with good health and long life. The Taoists emphasize a lot on the importance of love and sex towards good health and long life. Therefore, in Feng Shui this star is also referred to as the Flower of Romance. This star is Metal in nature.

[4] Fu Wei - The Number 4 Fortunate Star. This star is formed by the house trigram without any change. The name suggests the Stooping Position. Imagine how a lion stays in its den. It will occupy the back of the den stooping down and ready to attack any intruder. It is the most stable position, but it is only in the defensive mood. This star is Wood in nature.

[5] Jue Ming - The Number 1 Harmful Star. This is the most fierce star. The name suggests that it is the end of one's destiny. It will be detrimental to career, money, and health. This star is Metal in nature.

[6] Wu Gui - The Number 2 Harmful Star. The name means Five Ghosts. It is a very hot-tempered portent. It can bring disasters to the house. If this star is used appropriately it can also bring tremendous wealth. This star is Fire in nature.

[7] Liu Sha - The Number 3 Harmful Star. The name suggests Six Evils. This star brings inappropriate romance causing trouble. This star is Water in nature.

[8] Huo Hai - The Number 4 Harmful Star. The name suggests Misfortune. It is rebellious in nature. This star is Earth in nature.

Knowing the properties of these stars we will know what to expect in each area. Using the areas occupied by these stars in the best way will bring us the good things and avoid the bad things in life.

It would appear that half of a house is good and the other half is bad. But this is not quite logical. Compensation is made by considering directions.

We must further examine these directions and the Ming Gua as taught by the Eight House School.
