Digging

Dogs love to dig. They dig because they are bored or they are looking for a cool spot to lay. They need to be kept occupied with toys and make sure your dog always has a cool spot with plenty of fresh water.

The quickest and easiest way to eliminate a digging nuisance is also very easy and inexpensive.

First, start by putting your dog away in the house so that he cannot see what you are doing. Dogs are smart. If they see you, they may not go back and dig.

Second, get your pooper scooper, a shovel and a container of bacon grease or meat drippings. Go out in the yard and clean up with your scoopers. Then, place the droppings in your dogs favorite holes. Next, take the shovel and cover the holes over with dirt. Then, place the bacon grease or meat drippings on top. Remember, when the weather is cold, you must accommodate the situation. Now, put every thing away. You do not want your dog to think that you had anything to do with this. Bring your dog outside. Let him go to his holes and dig. After one or two holes he will start to get the picture. Digging means I find nasty stuff. I don't want to dig any more!

Some dogs are a little more stubborn!  Try using shallow patio blocks placed in the hole and covered with dirt as mentioned above.  Most dogs  do not like to dig at cement blocks.
