FOUR
REASONS TO SEND YOUR CHILD TO A CHRISTIAN SCHOOL
1.
If you believe that God is the source of all truth.
2. If you would like to have
teachers in charge of your
child’s instruction who are personally committed to
Christ.
3. If you believe that living a moral life and being a good citizen
is
based on a love for God and His Word.
4. If you feel daily devotions, prayer in
the classroom and Christian friendships are very important to the growing and learning
child.

Your Christian Choice . . .
SPIRITUAL
Christian values and academic excellence are
the foundation of education at NDCS. The school strives to meet the spiritual needs
of the developing child through Christian teachers who guide and serve as role models.
We
have daily Bible classes, weekly chapel, missionary speakers, missionary projects,
community outreach and opportunities to serve. Our Christian- based curriculum emphasizes
that God is at the center of all learning as the Creator-sustainer of the universe
and the source of all wisdom and knowledge.
ACADEMIC
In
order for children to make useful contributions to the world in which they live,
they must be free to create, think and experiment. Our curriculum design is such
that each student is encouraged to be creative, challenged to think and given opportunities
to incorporate learning into everyday life.
Academic standards are high and
a well-balanced curriculum is in place with a phonetic approach to reading. Each
classroom reflects the individual creativity and dedication of teachers and their
special approach to the learning process. Annual standardized testing scores show
our students achieving outstanding scores.
Our field trip program is well
developed and an outstanding enhancement to our academic program.
. . . in a Changing World.
SOCIAL
Children must become productive members of the society in
which they live. NDCS has many activities that strive to develop self-confidence,
encourage social skills and prepare the student for positive relationships with peers
and adults.
Student Council is an important part of this process as students
participate in decision-making through this form of Student government. They sponsor
and run a school store, school spirit week and other activities.
School drama
programs, musicals, chorus and community service are all important to self growth.
Our PTF encourages parental involvement and family-centered activities.
PHYSICAL
Physical
fitness is an integral part of a child’s whole development process.
Starting
in Kindergarten, we have developed a regular physical education program taught in
our facility. The program includes exercise, physical skills, relays, organized games
and sports.
NDCS is a member of MHCAL (Mid-Hudson Christian Athletic League)
and competes with other members. The league includes interscholastic competition
in soccer, basketball, softball and cheerleading.
We strive to teach competition
with a positive attitude toward fairness and good sportsmanship.
