Abour R.J. Dickens:
He then attended Kansas State University, where he received B.S. degrees in 1979 in Political Science and Journalism/Mass Communications. While at KSU, he was elected to one term on the University's Board of Student Publications.
Mr. Dickens also has completed classroom work toward a Master of Public Administration degree from KSU.
Mr. Dickens has worked on the staffs of the award-winning Manhattan Mercury and Herington Times, as well as KSRX-AM in ElDorado, KS.
He has worked in supervisory and management capacities in the real estate, insurance, auditing and teleservices industries.
His long list of political accomplishments include organizing for the Jesse Jackson 1988 presidential campaign, and various stints on county Central Committees.
He is currently in his second term as a member of the Kansas Democratic State Committee.
In 1990, he was the Democratic Party nominee for Kansas Secretary of State, and despite a campaign budget of less than $5000, garnered over 385,000 votes--the fourth highest total for a Democrat for that office in state history!
After numerous requests for representation after the 1990 election, which swept both a Democratic governor and Kansas House of Representatives into Topeka, he founded THE R.J. DICKENS ORGANIZATION to help business and non-profits with their requests for information.
