Significance:Biomedical data collected at a rapid rate has a high degree of autocorrelation. Among the control charts designed to work under these conditions are the expondential weighted moving average (EWMA) and a moving average control chart. The paper investigated the use of the moving average control chart. It worked, but the reaction of the caregiver was not positive. The BimedQC approach was found to be more acceptable.
