Significance: Clinical monitoring equipment sampling rates for oxygen saturation (SpO2) vary from every heartbeat, to 1 per second, to 1 per 5 seconds, to 1 per 10 seconds, and more. There are differences in the technology used within different brands of monitors. This paper uses BiomedQC control charts to investigate the significance of sampling rates for pulse oximeters.
