ch = Chain
dc = double crochet
sc = single crochet
sl st = slip stitch

FIRST ROW: Ch 6 - and join with a sl st.

SECOND ROW: * 1 sc over ring - ch 2 - 3 dc - ch 2 - 1 sc - repeat from *, until there are 5 petals to the rose.

THIRD ROW: Ch 4 - at the back of the first petal of preceding row, 1 sl st through the 2d sc (which is the last st forming the petal) - * ch 4 - at the back of the next petal, 1 st st through the 2d sc - repeat from *, until there are 5 ch of 4.

FOURTH ROW: Over each ch of 4 of preceding row - * 1 sc - ch 2 - 5 dc - ch 2 - 1 sc, all over same ch - repeat over next ch of 4 from *, until there are 5 petals.

FIFTH ROW: Same as Third Row.

SIXTH ROW: Same as Fourth Row. Break off thread and fasten.

SEVENTH ROW: 1 sl st over 1st ch of 2 of preceding row - ch 4 - * skip 1 dc - 1 dc in next dc - ch 2 - repeat from * - 1 dc over ch of 2 - ch 2 - 1 dc over ch of 2 of next petal - ch 2 - and continue all around - and join with a sl st.

EIGHTH ROW: Ch 2 - 2 dc over ch of 2 of preceding row - ch 2 - * 3 dc over next ch of 2 - ch 2 - repeat from * all around - and join with a sl st.

NINTH ROW: Ch 5 - 3 dc over ch of 2 of preceding row - ch 2 - * 3 dc over next ch of 2 - ch 2 - repeat from * all around - and join the last dc with a sl st into 3d st of ch of 5.

TENTH ROW: Ch 3 - 3 dc over ch of 5 of preceding row - * ch 2 - 4 dc over ch of 2 - repeat from * all around and join with a sl st.

ELEVENTH ROW: Ch 5 - * 4 dc over ch of 2 of preceding row - ch 2 - repeat from * all around. Break off thread and fasten.

For other side of bag, duplicate the directions of the above eleven rows, then lay one on top of the other (roses outside) and work:

Border, always over both (front and back together):

1 st st over the last dc of any group of 4 dc of the outside rows - ch 3 - * 1 st st over 1st dc of next group - ch 5 - 1 st st over last dc of same group - ch 3 - repeat from * - and continue, until there are 5 groups of 4 dc left. Break off thread and fasten.

For Beading and Edging, at the top of bag:

FIRST ROW: 1 sc over 1st dc of group of 4 dc - ch 5 - * 1 dc between 1st and 2d dc - ch 2 - 1 dc between 3d and 4th dc - ch 2 - 1 dc over ch of 2 - ch 2 - repeat from *, until the end of the row.

SECOND ROW: Ch 4 - turn - 4 dc over ch of 2 of preceding row - * ch 2 - skip 1 ch of 2 - 1 sc over next ch of 2 - 4 dc over same ch - repeat from * , until the end of the row - ch 4 and fasten in preceding row.

For the other side of bag, repeat Edging as above.

For Cord:

Take double thread and make two chains to the desired length.
