Celebrate the Holidays with a Fresh Fragrant Balsam Fir Wreath From Aunt Rhodie's
available Christmas 2001.

In November, as the weather changes from the glow of Indian Summer, when the first snow flurries fly and the snow-shoe hares exchange their summer-brown coats for fashionable winter white, we at Aunt Rhodie's head for the woods to gather the growing tips of the Balsam Fir. The tips are snapped from our healthy certified organically nurtured trees in a kind of pruning process, leaving them alive and growing.
The tips are brought back to the kitchens and sheds of our early 19th century farm buildings, where they are hand-crafted into some of the most beautiful Holiday decorations available anywhere. Deep glossy fragrant foliage, accented with the red of all-natural rose-berries, and the frosted tans of pine and spruce cones. We tuck in a couple of sprigs of paler white pine for textural contrast, and top off the wreath with a huge red velvette bow. then we carefully pack by hand, making sure that personalized messages get to that special gift recipient.

Our wreath manufacture is a labor of love. We love knowing that we make wreaths without artificial chemicals or pesticides being used on the land. We love getting out in the woods in the fall, carrying fir tips not hunting rifles! We love to be interrupted at work by white tailed deer, grouse, moose and black bear. We love the way our homes and workshops smell, as we handle this most delightfully fragrant evergreen. And we love sending them out to homes across the country, where we know they will add to the joy of the festive holiday season.
