(Fake email warning)

Just like many other hoaxes, the Lump of Coal hoax claims to warn users about an email message, which may arrive on December 25th. According to the hoax, the email contains a destructive virus which will activate upon opening an email with the following subject: "Subject: Lump of Coal" If you receive this warning or any similar
warning, please do not forward it to anyone else.
Here is the original email hoax text: Warning on December 25, 1999 you may receive an email called, Lump of Coal...do not open it, it contains a deadly virus...it will erase your windows along with many other program files. Pass this on as soon as you can to get the WORD out!!!This is not a hoax....this was reported on the CBS morning news August 20,1999 | ||||||||
