As far as Pakistani businessmen and executives are concerned, there is a lack of knowledge about computers and they are using old fashioned methods in their businesses. But even this awareness is more than that of a non-executive person.
We asked about the participant's view of the E-commerce and below that we gave four definitions of this buzz word, out of which only two were correct. It was dismal to find that most businessmen have no idea about E-commerce.
We selected a few terms that key terms which often appear in the context of
E-commerce and asked our participants, of which of those terms, they understand
the meaning? The terms listed were Merchant accounts, Business-to-consumer
E-commerce., Digital certificate, Electronic cheques, Business-to-business
E-commerce., Payment gateway, Secure server, E.D.I. (Electronic Data
Interchange) and W.A.P.
