Learn A Trick

The 4 Ace Trick
Preparation: In secret before your performance, place 4 cards of the same number,(4 K’s, 4 Aces, 4 Fives whichever your choice is), on top of the deck.

Note * Keep track of the top of the deck during the trick.

Point to the top of the deck and say to your helper, “Please place half of the deck here.” As you say this point to the table left of the deck. Now the “top” of the deck is on the left and the “bottom half” is on the right.

Next, point to the “bottom half” and say, ”Now place about half of this pile here.” As you say this point to the left side of the “top” pile. You now have 3 piles with the top of the deck in the middle.

Now point to the middle pile and say, ”Next, place about half of this pile here.” As you say this, point to the right side of the “bottom half” pile. You now have 4 piles with the “top” of the deck being at the far right side.

Start at the opposite side of the “top” pile, in this case, the far left or the 1st pile. Point to this pile and say, “Now pick up this pile and take 3 cards off the top and put them on the bottom” After they do this, say, “Now take the next card and card and place it here” (Point to the 2nd pile.) “The next card here.” (Point to the 3rd pile). “And the next card here.” (Point to the 4th - “top” pile). “Ok. Place that pile back and pick up the next pile.” (repeat this with each pile). You (should) now have 4 piles in which you just placed 3 cards on top of each.

Now say,” Now turn over the top card of each pile.” They should be the 4 cards you put on top of the deck at the beginning of the trick.
