Thoughts for Success
Everything you do is a self-portrait of yourself, so to be well remembered sign your work with pride in excellence. When someone asked if I dreamed of doing great things, I replied no to their astonishment, until I explained that I was too busy accomplishing things to dream about them. Choose your profession and be as proud of it as Mozart was of his music and Dickens of his writings. Remember that while you cannot control the wind, you can use it to harness the power of electricity or to help sale a ship and so while there are things that you cannot change, there are alternatives to which you can look forward to. Many people have failed to go to places that they have never been before because they lack the ingenuity and the courage to move ahead.
Many people use ingenuity, hard work and courage to accomplish what others have failed to do, while others look upon their success as a miracle. Remember that in early times due to lack of education and understanding, inventions of today would have been looked upon as sorcery, so if you wish to keep your eyes closed to the possibility that you can accomplish new things, remain ignorant all your life.
If you act in a manner in which those that matter don't mind and those that mind don't matter, then you have accomplished a measurement of success. Do that which you believe will be understood by those equal to or wiser than yourself in such a manner that those less wiser than yourself can comprehend and you have performed to everyone's satisfaction. Don't be afraid to take a big step in your life, if you feel a large step is needed for you cannot jump over a river in two steps without getting wet.
Fear not to share your love of life and those about you will fill your life with more than you can share so that you will grow. There is nothing wrong in failing to succeed, unless it is the last time you will try to succeed. The luckiest people in the world are those whose time is spent on hard work, initiative, improving and educating themselves and trying to accomplish that which others have failed to do. A great pleasure in succeeding is having the satisfaction of doing what others have said was impossible to do. Each rung on the ladder of success is filled with friends, family, relatives, and strangers telling you that you cannot succeed, but as you climb each rung they become less and less. Don't measure yourself by the money you have in your pocket, but rather by the friends that walk by your side. Remember that there are many things that you can accomplish and many that you cannot, but neither should interfere with the other. You will find yourself more often right when you determine that you can accomplish something then when you don't. The difference between the impossible and the possible is two letters: "I 'm" capable of doing the possible. Search the friend that will help you do what you can.
Remember that something done well is something done poorly, if it could have been done better. If the marksman misses his target he should first see if the arrow was straight, and if it was, then he should look to improve himself in order to improve his aim. People may not remember how quickly you have done a job, but they will remember how well or how poorly you did the job, and only you can determine how they will remember you. The direction that you are moving in will determine where you accomplish great feats or where you will fail. While there is no harm in following, be certain that the path you are taking is the right one, for if it is not, then you should be leading and others following in order that goals can be met.
In life there will often be forks in the road that you must choose to take. Some will be easy and well worn and these should be the paths of righteous ones in which you must choose to do what is right and not what is wrong. Other paths will also appear easy and well worn, but be warned that they may be the paths of those who have failed and chosen to take the easy way without trying to succeed, and then it is time to make your own path so that you may leave a trail which others may follow.
