PRESENTERS

Pat Bradley, M.A., NACC, LAT   Pat Bradley is a hospital chaplain at the United Medical Center in Cheyenne, WY. He is a certified member of the National Association of Catholic Chaplains and a Certified Pastoral Counselor with the College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy. He is an instructor for the course Religious Aspects of Domestic Violence. In addition to his theological training, Pat has a Masters Degree in Counseling from Colorado Christian University. He is an ordained Roman Catholic deacon with over 22 years experience in parish ministry and pastoral counseling, as well as chaplaincy. A nationally known speaker, Chaplain Pat has presented workshops for the Association of Professional Chaplains, the Health & Sciences Television Network, and local chaplain groups. Pat is chairman of the Governor's Domestic Violence Elimination Council.

Marguerite McCormack, MA, LPC

  Marguerite McCormack is the Director of Trauma Services for Jefferson Center for Mental Health. She was the Project Director for Columbine Connections, the community-based response to the shootings at Columbine High School, for the duration of the program. She also served as the Clinic Coordinator for the Student Counseling Clinic at the University of Colorado at Denver. Ms. McCormack trains and consults extensively on trauma, trauma therapy, vicarious traumatization, and community response to disaster and trauma. She is the principal author and presenter of the Colorado State Training in Crisis Counseling.

Jon Richard, PsyD

  Jon Richard, PsyD, Prof. LLC provides professional and lay education, program- and policy-development assistance, post-crisis support, and clinical case consultations to assist client agencies, schools, communities, professionals and the public to respond effectively to persons at risk of suicide. Dr Richard serves client agencies through workshops, management consultation groups, teleconferences, and Internet webcasts. Services are offered at beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels, and are customized to meet the needs of those attending, such as mental health professionals, crisis workers, public safety professionals, teachers and other education professionals, students, substance abuse counselors, pastoral counselors, peer counselors, client and consumer groups, and advocacy organizations.

Jon Richard, PsyD is a licensed clinical psychologist (CO). He has provided services for agencies including the Jefferson Center for Mental Health, the Mental Health Corporation of Denver, West Central Mental Health Center, the Frontier Health Network, the New England Institute for Addiction Studies, the State of Maine, Columbine Connections Resource Center, the Colorado Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division, the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless, the Southwestern Pharmacists’ Recovery Network, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Lupus Foundation of Colorado, the CHARG Resource Center, and the Colorado Academy. He is a former supervising psychologist and Director of Neuropsychology at the Colorado Mental Health Institute and past president of the Colorado Society for Behavior Analysis and Therapy. Dr Richard served as Program Chair of the 2002 conference of the American Association of Suicidology, and was a workshop leader and plenary speaker for the Indiana-Purdue “Summit on Suicide” in May 2002. Published papers include case studies in the treatment of complicated Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Pick's Disease, and more recently, "'Rational’ and Assisted Suicidal Communication on the Internet: A Case Example and Discussion of Ethical and Practice Issues" in Ethics and Behavior. He conceived, edited, and contributed to a three-part series on treatment of suicidality for The Behavior Therapist. He has taught courses in Suicidology and Behavior Analysis for Metropolitan State College, and currently teaches at the University of Colorado. He has served as a guest lecturer at the University of Denver forensic psychology program and the University of Colorado Counselor Education program. He received an Outstanding Achievement award from the Colorado Department of Human Services and two Leadership Awards from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. In addition to teaching and consulting projects, Dr. Richard treats clients at the Colorado State Employee Assistance Program.
