Suzanna Rose is currently a Research Counsellor based at the Cognition, Emotion and Trauma Group, Department of Psychology, Royal Holloway, University of London, UK. She has been funded for the last 3 years by the UK National Health Management Executive to evaluate early psychological interventions with victims of violent crime. She works as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Psychological Trauma at the Posttraumatic Stress Clinic, West Middlesex University Hospital in west London one day a week. She is a member of the ESTSS Research Group. Prior to obtaining her MA (Counselling) in 1992, she worked for 6 years as a disaster planner for both the British and International Red Cross and worked at large-scale disasters both in the UK and abroad. She originally trained as a Public Health Nurse in London. She has been a Magistrate (part-time minor judge) for 13 years. She has published several papers and lectured in both the UK and overseas. She is currently interested in developing more scientific programmes for use following large scale catastrophes. Recently, Suzanna was commissioned by the ISTSS (International Society For Traumatic Stress Studies), along with Dr. J. Bisson and Professor A. McFarlane, to write a chapter on Psychological Debriefing for a new book on treatment modalities. Return To Conference Page
