Lilla Abbot married George A. Scott of Dorchester, MA in the 1880's.
Lilla's parents operated seasonal hotels in North Carolina and on Martha's
Vinyard. This photo shows the Martha's Vinyard Island operation in
the 1870's.
On the back is written:
" Family hotel on Martha's Vinyard and Island Oak Bluffs,
used to be called cottage city near centre of town owned by my mother's
family the Abbots's in the 1870's as summer hotel. They ran a hotel in
Salisbury N.C. in winter & there or near later place my grandfather
Abbot & Uncle Chas. & Aunt Mary are buried."
