When four generations gather at one place it is usually an occasion for cameras as it was in 1944 when Dill Scott could hold his one year old great ganddaughter, Nancy Jean Feaver.  Nancy would be the only one of his seven great grandchild he would hold in his hands.  The death of a beloved family patriarch, the next year would mark a passage for the family.  Alexander Dill Scott had moved across a continent to establish his family in California,  spening sixty-three years in his adopted home.  With retail experience in his father's store in Nova Scotia, he arrived in Humboldt Co. CA at the age of 23 and soon found work at McDonald Brother's store.  Eventually buying his own store in Black Point, he was also the Post Master and make application to have the community named Novato.
