November - December 1904

November 1, 1903  Sunday - Fine all day - Rain shower in evening.

November 2, 1903  Dull & showery - Planted cabbage plants in hot bed this morning

November 8, 1903  Sunday - During past week have been very busy.  On Thursday night Kearney told Mr. LeMessurier he intended leaving at the end of the month.  Herman Green left for Sydney in train this afternoon.  Yesterday Dick Crumey shot a partridge over the (South Side) Hills - He had to come home after being in (the country) a short time as it came on to rain.

November 13, 1903  Tuesday - Mild - Kearney not to work today - Went to (Sunday School) teachers meeting after shop closed, lesson 23rd Psalm, leader Dr. Frazer.

November 14, 1903  Raining all night - Gooseberry trees arrived today from Carduo & Durling.

November 15, 1903  Sunday -  Mild showery all day -  Went to Poor House in the morning with Jess & William Gooby (Goobie).  Had very good service - Meeting of S.S.A. (Sunday School Association) held tonight at Victoria Hall - W (we) set up L.S.M.R. after church.

November 18, 1903  Fine - Very warm all day - Father went shooting back of of Leaureup (?) today saw no birds.

November 22, 1903  Sunday -  Fine day but cold & frosty - Winter just setting in - Fall trade in now over and people are talking of closing the shops on Monday night - went to Mr. Jean class this morning.

November 29, 1903  Sunday - Very mild all week - Raining hard during morning - Commenced giving out libraries in Sunday School this afternoon - Children also commenced practising hymns for Christmas.

November 30, 1903  Very mild all day in the night balmy like summer.   Went for walk in Munds Pond Rd. after shop closed.

December 6, 1903  Sunday night - During the past week weather has been very mild with rain nearly every day.  Last evening Kearney received word that his brother was very sick.  He sent for him to come home.

December 7, 1903  Fine day - Went to Dr. Lamb & got 5 teeth filled $ 4.00.  Commenced stock taking in shop.  Noseworthy for bigamy and perjury - received 7 years imprisonment today.

December 11, 1903  Still mild no ice or snow - This time last year about 10 inches of ice cut off Munds Pond.  Father & Mother (Capt. Edward White Jr. & Emma Jane Bemister) celebrated their Silver Wedding today.( married Dec. 11 1878)

December 13, 1903  Sunday - Once more during past week weather has been wet & very mild - got colder yesterday & today - hard & frosty.  At Alexander Street (Church) this afternoon Anniversary Service was held.  On Wednesday & Thursday nights sale was held in (Methodist) College Hall.

December 15, 1903  Frosty - First winter day - Put hall store up today.  Bought set of Reading Circle Books today.

December 16, 1903  Fine & frosty - shower of snow at night.  Horwood Lumber Co. building collapsed today.

December 19, 1903  Saturday - Wind N.E. with snow storm all day - Street cars laid off.

December 20, 1903  Sunday - In the morning went to the funeral of George Ash took place at 9:30 AM - day fine but walking heave owing to storm of yesterday.  At night Mr.(Rev. W.T.D.) Dunn preached Annual Temperance Sermon.

December 23, 1903  After shop closed went ot Centenary School where tea was given by teachers.

December 24, 1903  Mild with snow showers in day - fine at night.  Went to service in Presbyterian Church in the night where the Cantata Immanuel was rendered.  Sent to Hobbies for catalogue of fretwork designs.

Christmas 1903- Snowing in the morning turned to rain and mild in the afternoon.  Went to church in the morning.  Mr.(Rev. W.T.D.) Dunn preached sermon & had very good singing by choir.  In the house rest of day.

December 27, 1903  Sunday - fine & frosty.  Snowing in the morning.  Special service held in George Street (Methodist) church by Sunday School in the afternoon.  Mr. Robertson in the chair - Mrs. Duley taught Christmas lesson.
