MRS. M. T. SCOTT CALLED BY DEATH

 Was Resident of Castle Shannon for Thirty Years - A Relative of President Taylor.


Mrs. Martha Taylor Scott, wife of Thomas F. Scott, died at the family residence, in Castle Shannon, last evening at 8:30 o'clock, after a short illness.  Mrs. Scott was born on Ferry street, Pittsburg, December 24 1824.  Her father was Richard Taylor, a prominent barge builder in his days, and a full cousin of President Zachariah Taylor.  Her husband, Thomas F. Scott, was formerly engaged in the shoe business in Pittsburg, but for the past 30 years the family has lived at Castle Shannon.  On April 11, of this year, Mr. and Mrs. Scott celebrated the sixtieth anniversary of their marriage.
Mrs. Scott was a quiet and consistant member of the Methodist Prostestant church.  She is survived by her husband, Thomas F. Scott, now in his 88th year, and three sons and three daughters.  They are:

Walter Forester Scott, of Philadelphia;
William F. [T.] Scott, of the Safe deposit and trust company;
Edward F. [T.] Scott, of the Pittsburg and Castle Shannon railroad;
Mrs. John P. Moore, of Knoxsville;
Miss Dora Hixenbaugh, of Castle Shannon,

and two brothers; Charles Taylor, of Cincinnati, OH., and Joseph Taylor, of Elizabeth, PA; also 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.  The funeral will take place Sunday afternoon at 2:30.
