Children I See


Sometimes,

When sitting off some distance
watching some woman or man
if I squint my eyes and look
I see, not a woman or man
but instead
an 8 or 9 year old
girl or boy.

We are children,
and are being reminded
by those younger than us
to look within
to see that which we have forgotten
for it is still there
hidden away in some
corner of the closet
of our mind.
