(established 1969, Canadian Coast Guard approved)

Meet the Captain & Crew aboard the "Sea Watcher"

Captain Peter Wilcox, owner of "Sea Watch Tours", is a native Grand Mananer whose ancestors arrived from New England during the American Revolution. He's a proud islander who once served as the mayor of Seal Cove and is currently the President of the Grand Manan Chamber of Commerce, as well as a husband and father of two active boys.

After travelling to the mainland where he secured two college degrees, he returned to his island to pursue his love of the sea. Aside from lobster fishing for the past 18 years, he has invested 23 years with the tourism industry on Grand Manan. His knowledge of the sea and the island lifestyle helps to make your excursion with Sea Watch Tours a memorable one. His relaxed and confident manner will put you at ease and his willingness to answer your questions will be evident along with his sense of humour. He encourages guests to visit the wheelhouse where he'll explain the various electronic instruments he uses to navigate the waters. He shares his time at the wheel with his Mate, Durlan Ingersoll a personable and witty guide.

Mate Durlan Ingersoll has over a decade of experience working on the sea. In the few years he has been with Sea Watch Tours, he has acquired a vast knowledge of the marine life and seabirds surrounding Grand Manan. Aboard the boat you will find him serving a steaming hot drink, answering questions, entertaining with his humour, or steering the boat. It will be very evident that he enjoys his work. But, when the Sea Watcher is tied up for the day, Durlan will be found at the family owned "Brookside Golf Course" located in Seal Cove.

Captain Peter and Mate Durlan have First Aid and CPR training as well as other navigational requirements for carrying passengers. The captain and mate are always busy aboard the "Sea Watcher" looking after the needs of the passengers. After all, YOU are what matters the most!

Kenda Wilcox, wife of the captain, keeps things running smoothly at the home/office, answering the telephone and taking reservations. She will be happy to answer your telephone and E-mail enquiries.

The vessel used by "Sea Watch Tours" is the M.V. "Sea Watcher", a 42 ft by 16.5 ft. cape island style boat, built in Nova Scotia. It is inspected annually by the Canadian Coast Guard and meets or surpasses their requirements. Guest seating is in the aft section of the vessel under the protection of a canopy. The heated cabin area includes the washroom, wheelhouse and all the electronic equipment. The forward area, or cuddy, houses a sink, stove, hot beverages and gift shop. Feel free to visit these areas of the "Sea Watcher".

We are proud of our long history of successful tours, and welcome the opportunity to be a part of your vacation memories.
