"Why Use Handcrafted Soap?"

After you've purchased Black Rooster Soap, take a close look at our soap next to the commercial (grocery store or specialty store, mass-produced) soap you usually purchase. Their shapes, sizes and colors are highly irregular and very imperfect. That is because each individual product is hand crafted in our very own kitchen. Each batch will vary in color and fragrance because we don't follow a recipe for scenting and coloring. Instead, we let our eyes and noses determine when there is enough color and fragrance. Each bar of our soap is individually cut and shaped and, therefore, no two bars are ever exactly the same. We even add our own honey to a few of our soaps. Most important, we do not add unnecessary chemicals to our soaps and skin care products--your skin doesn't need them!
So, if it's a perfect bar of soap or bottle of lotion you're looking for, check out the stores that sell mass-produced, machine-manufactured products. You'll find perfect shapes, sizes and colors there--along with all the nasty chemicals they include.

A Word About Glycerin

Glycerin is a humectant (draws and collects moisture) that is produced naturally in soap and is good for your skin (very moisturizing). Commercial soap producers leach the glycerin out of their soap and sell it to other manufacturers (such as lotion manufacturers). This leaves you with a soap that will dry your skin. We do not extract the glycerin from our soap. We leave it in the soap where it belongs--where it can moisturize your skin as it was supposed to do. Over a period of time, you will see the difference and feel the benefits!
