Tablet of the Heart

Who I am and what I pray Tablet of the Heart will be

Welcome to the beginnings of what I hope will be a blessing to many.  I guess I should explain who I am and what I’m doing and how you can help.

First of all, my name is Stephanie Dobson.  I have always been a fan of literature of any kind: poetry, novellas, short stories, fiction, nonfiction and dramas.  I graduated with a BA in English from Texas Christian University with no idea of what I was going to do for the rest of my life.  I was not a Christian and had decided that I didn’t want to teach.

Two years after graduating, I was blessed by God to receive His grace and accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.  My testimony is a long and drawn out saga (as many are) so I won’t take up space here to share it but I have been trying to be obedient to Him ever since.

I have long wanted to work with some sort of literary publication but never felt the assurance that that was where I was supposed to be.  Until now.  I feel God is calling me to begin this magazine to help spread His word and His work in our lives to those who may not know Him and also to use this as a platform to help Christian writers share their joy in our Lord, Jesus Christ.  I will be regularly submitting my own writing (mostly poetry) and continually posting the other submissions, like poetry or prose that I have collected so far.

And now we’re to the crux of the matter.  To continue this exciting venture, I need literature to include in my first issue of Tablet of the Heart.  I am accepting all genres of writing—poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and dramas.  I feel God wants this to be a non-profit venture because how can I profit off of the joy of the Lord that others are willing to share?  At this point, I'm not prepared to print any "hard copies" of Tablet of the Heart because honestly, I just don't have the time.  But I still have guidelines.  The guidelines to submissions are:
All submissions must include the author’s name and address.
All poetry submissions must be no longer than 50 lines.
All prose submissions must be no longer than 350 words.

Those are pretty simple guidelines for now, but until I really get into this, I don’t know what else to say.

If you have any questions, comments, would like to submit something, would like a subscription, or have any helpful hints on how to begin all of this, please e-mail me.

Please keep this publication in your prayers and pass the word.  May God bless and keep you.

Yours in Christ,
Stephanie
