As seen in Lesson G, the square Selection Handles can re-size or re-scale an object. Click again and the Selection Handles change appearance. New Rotation Handles are displayed.
The four corner handles control rotation without distortion. The side, top and bottom handles skew the object. The 'belly button' center displayed is the object's Center of Rotation, move this to alter rotation or skew angle.
Click and drag that rotation handle in a circular fashion. The Status Line displays degree of rotation. Release the mouse button - your object has been rotated.
Objects rotate around their absolute center (the Center of Rotation - shown as a
). The
can be moved (dragged) to a new location.
This "A" (at left), has had it's Center of Rotation moved, and then has been rotated.
Objects can be skewed (tilted) by the top, bottom and side Rotation Handles. Drag a top or bottom handle to the left or right, or drag a side handle up or down. The "A" at right has been skewed 'downward'.
