ELDER OR COMPANION CARE FINDER SERVICE

Families Help Line is an elder or companion care finder service. We help bring together families & caregivers for part-time, full-time, live-in or live-out employment in the DC/Baltimore Metro areas as well as other locations throughout the U.S. Let us know your location and we should be able to determine at that time if we will be able to assist you.

Our Responsibility

Our responsibility entails helping you find a suitable elderly or companion care referral for your position, checking his/her work references then making the results of these checks available to you for your review. Our service fees to find you part-time help is $350 (up to 30 hours/week) and for full-time help is $500 (31 hours and up per week). You would need to pay us our service fees at the time you decide to employ an elder or companion aide. In addition to paying us our service fees, you would also be required to pay the caregiver's salary to him or her directly each week or on a biweekly pay schedule.

Your Responsibility

You would be responsible for (1) interviewing the candidate in your home or office, (2) checking to see if the individual's employment application information is accurate (i.e., diplomas, degrees, certifications) and (3) performing your own background screening on the selected candidate you plan to employ. We can refer you to an online background screening source where you can check a candidate's criminal/driving record reports and verify his/her diploma, degree or certification information at affordable rates, usually ranging from $35-$100. You can usually receive the results of these reports within 24 hours if the candidate resides in the DC Metro area.

Interviewing Procedure

A family will be able to interview available elder or companion care referrals in person in the privacy within their home or office. Unless otherwise suggested by our company, it is the family's responsibility to contact the applicant directly and give him/her job interview specifics, e.g., interview date, time and directions to the job site. After interviewing available applicants, the family is required to contact our office with the results of each interview in a timely manner.

Home Care Worker Info

All caregiver referrals have a minimum of two years of related work experience as an elder, personal or companion care worker (non medical caregiver) and upon occasion as a Certified Nursing Assistant or CNA (medical caregiver). Most of our referrals are non medical caregivers.

Duties Provided By the Home Care Worker

Duties performed by the in home caregiver may include assisting an elder person or an individual requiring assistance with personal care, cooking, housecleaning, laundry, grocery shopping and other errands. Caregiver duties will be limited to the person requiring care and pertaining only to job-related duties involving his/her care.

Home Care Worker's Salary Info

The salary range for the caregiver may vary with job responsibilities, his/her work schedule, the geographical location of the job site and the experience/education of the caregiver.

Non Medical Caregiver Rates

Hourly or Weekly Rates:

$13/hour to care for one elderly person

A 20-hour/week minimum required for part-time help

If you require a 7-day week/24-hour charge you may need to hire more than one caregiver.

Medical Caregiver Rates

We only provide a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for elder care help.

Hourly and Weekly Rates: Rates start from $15/hour up to $20/hour
