MAHATHIR’S BUYING SPREE IN TIMES OF ECONOMIC CRISIS

The 2 articles below are by courtesy of ANTI KEPARAT:

  1. RECENT PURCHASE OF MALAYSIAN GOVERNMENT
  2. EXECUTIVE JET

Whilst many of us are unaware, the Malaysian Government recently purchased an Executive Jet :-

Name Of Aircraft : Global Express

    Supplier : Bombardier Of Canada

    Delivery : November 1998

    Price : US$45 Million (RM 171 Million)

This recent purchase is in addition to the Falcon Executive Jet that is still in excellent condition for the use by the Prime Minister (and of course his cronies).

    Question is:

DOES MALAYSIA NEED ANOTHER EXECUTIVE JET AT RM 171 MILLION????

The country is facing her worst economic crisis since independence and the Malaysian Government is spending unproductively.

Or is the purpose of buying this jet to FLY out the Prime Minister and his family when the RAKYAT goes after them??

  3. PURCHASE OF 2 UNITS OF USED RUSSIAN –MADE M18

HELICOPTERS FOR JABATAN BOMBA

As reported in the local press on 28th October 1998, the Malaysian Government recently purchased 2 Helicopters for Jabatan Bomba. These Helicopters are meant to deploy firefighters and to perform rescue operations in times of emergency, such as Forest Fire etc.

Instead of purchasing these 2 Helicopters, the Malaysian Government could have work out and tie with MHS (Malaysian Helicopter Services) or other Helicopter operators for the job and use the RM 57 Million (yes, that is the price) for other productive and critical need of the country.

This Russian-made M18 Helicopter is considered surplus or scrap ex-military hardware in Russian and this model can be easily purchased for as low as US$ 250,000 each or RM 950,000 in the open market. But instead the Malaysian Government paid RM 28.5 Million each!!!!

These 2 aircrafts need to register with DCA (The Authority for Civil Aircraft) since they are operating in Civil Registration. However, the DCA considers that both the aircrafts old and not airworthy. Military personnel (wearing non-military uniform) are currently operating these aircrafts and to top that, both of the Helicopters are also NOT in Military registration.

I SMELL A RAT !!!!!
