Lots of new interviews, reviews and articles:
- May 10, 2001.
- Press Conference, May 8, 2001 (courtesy of Jax). Arnold Vosloo in London:
One story I do want to share is about The Rock. Arnold was saying that during the filming of The Mummy in Morocco everyone got food poisoning, so this time, with The Mummy Returns, he made sure to take his own supplies. He went to "Sainsburys" (UK supermarket chain) and bought two cases of tuna...
....and would sell them to crew members for five english pounds a can (they retail at about .80p)
He said he found Dwayne (The Rock) one day sitting with a plate filled with roast chickens, vegetables, etc. and said "You shouldn't eat all that, you'll get sick."
The Rock said "Man, I've wrestled in every country and eaten food everywhere in the world...no problem."
Later, they're about to film a sequence at the beginning of the movie, with the Scorpion King standing on a six-storey high sand dune, the sun is setting, it's a one-take shot, The Rock is on the dune, waving a sword....suddenly he drops it and runs.
He's got to go to the bathroom.

Box Office Report.
-
Cindy Perlman has this report on a possible 2nd sequel:
With "The Mummy Returns" blowing away the non-holiday movie opening record set by "Star Wars: Episode I--The Phantom Menace," get ready for "Mummy III" and more. . . . The Rock is filming a prequel called "The Scorpion King," which co-stars Chicago's own Michael Clark Duncan. And Patricia Velasquez, who plays the bandaged one's babe, says that she will be back to hold her Mummy dearest. "It's already been arranged," she says.

Calgary Sun interview with AV.
- This small 'blurb' from Associated Press (thanks Kara):
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Arnold Vosloo said he didn't mind playing the marauding
mummy Imhotep again in the blockbuster ``The Mummy Returns,'' even though
he's primarily a stage actor.
``They pay me a lot of money so, you know, your pain is diminished instantly
when you see all the zeros on the check,'' Vosloo told reporters. ``I'm not
elitist, you know, in that sense.''
Speaking of zeros, ``The Mummy Returns'' grossed more than $70 million in its
opening weekend, a record for a non-holiday.
Vosloo said it was easy for everyone to make the sequel to the 1999 original.
Co-stars Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz and Oded Fehr also are back, as is
writer-director Stephen Sommers.
``The first one was kind of like an opening night in the theater, and doing
the second movie was as if we'd run the play for three months and everybody
knows their parts, we know where the laugh lines are gonna be and, you know,
we just went on and did it,'' Vosloo said.
