Bob Goen (BG): Well, Brendan Fraser (BF) hunts the evil corpse once more in "The Mummy Returns" and there's a new wicked force straight from the WWF. We're behind the scenes to take the wraps off the sequel, for another ET first.
Arnold Vosloo: You cannot keep a good mummy down, that's the truth. (Click to hear AV say this himself!)
BG: Arnold Vosloo, the original mummy from the first film is back and hero BF is out to get him. In this scene, BF jumps a fissure in the earth and almost falls in because of an earthhquake to be added in later in post-production.
BG: Then he and the mummy go head to head.
BG: The cast and crew under director Stephen Sommers (SS) guarantee you lots of big scale action. SS: The movie's much, much bigger but I also think its much better. (Click to hear SS)
BG: But the returned mummy of "The Mummy Returns" isn't the only bad guy...
there's also the Scorpion King played by the WWF's "The Rock". The Rock (TR): The Scorpion King was just a fierce warrior. BG: We were on hand for a photoshoot of The Rock in character and he let us in on what to expect from the film after the Scorpion King sells his soul to become half man, half scorpion.
TR: He stings, he has these huge pincers, he's cut people in half, he's going after BF, he's going after the mummy, Arnold Vosloo. (Click to hear The Rock) BG: The Studio loved The Rock's character so much, they're planning a whole movie on the Scorpion King and will pay him $5 million as we reported last week. But don't expect The Rock to roll over to acting full time. TR: You can always count on The Rock 'layin the smackdown' on the WWF. BG: During filming, The Rock and BF never actually met! Their scenes were shot separately and then joined together through special effects.
