Amy was born in Glen Ellyn,Illinois. Her birthday is July 7. She is one of four children. She has two sisters, Betsy and Lori, and a brother, Joe. Both of Amy's parents are teachers. Amy's mother used to own a music store and taught piano . While in eighth grade, her parents both were hired to teach at the American Community school in Jordan. Amy and her family moved to the Middle East and lived there for a year. She has been to every state except Alaska and aspires to travel throughout the Far-East and Africa. Amy attended Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois where she graduated cum laude with a B.F.A in East Asian history and a concentration in Theater in 1990.

Amy was a Rep.Term VII participant. Every three years the Knox Theater department presents Rep. Term (Repertory Theater Term), during which students take on all aspects of a Professional Repertory Theater company.

In addition to the year spent in Jordan, Amy has also travelled in Central Africa doing relief work. She is looking forward to travelling extensively in the Far East and Africa one day. One of Amy's goals is to motorcycle across Vietnam.

Amy got "bit by the acting bug" while attending Knox College where she appeared in such productions as "Fifth of July", "Noises Off", "A Lie of the Mind", "School for Scandal", and "Titanic". This is simply to name a few.

Amy enjoys softball, horseback riding, running, snow and water skiing, white water rafting, rollerblading and inline skating. She also enjoys playing electric bass and guitar in her spare time. She used to perform with her band "Porridge" in which she may once again someday (that is, if she can find some spare time!!).

Amy has two tatoos on her ankle that she rubs for good luck. They are Chinese symbols which stand for "Peace of Mind" and "Love and Hapiness".

Amy currently resides in Manhattan's East Village, New York City. She has two great cats named Nora and Little Chick. She once had two pet pigs named Arnold and Arlene that were rescued runts from her Uncle Donovan's farm.
