JUDITH BÉRARD (Jeanne)

Judith Bérard was born in 1970 in Montreal and was raised in a quiet town in the Eastern Townships. She started her career at the age of nine in a special TV program at the CBC where she was spotted by a casting agent. After a long stay in England where she studied opera and piano, she returned to Canada and landed the part of Mélodie for the TV series "Lance et Compte". She was also seen as Christine Cartier, in the popular TV serie "Scoop". In 1993, she starred as Cristal in the critically-acclaimed French production of "Starmania" which she performed for nearly 3 years. She also toured with the show for 6 months, in Belgium, Switzerland and France. Other projects include recordings for the album "The Anthology of French Music" presently selling millions in France and recordings for the French version of "The Color of the Wind", the title song of Walt Disney's production of "Pocahontas".

RENÉ SIMARD (King Charles VII)

René Simard was born in Chicoutimi in 1961. His astonishing career as a singer started at the age of nine when he received first prize in a local TV contest. He was soon noticed by his manager-to-be Guy Cloutier when he sang at his wedding that same year. Also, at the age of nine, he recorded his first song, L'Oiseau, which became an instant hit, selling 175,000 copies. "Le P'tit Simard", as he was affectionately called by the public, sold more albums in Quebec than the Beatles and Elvis Presley. From then on his career flourished at the international level. By the age of 13, he had performed with such headliners as Merv Griffin, Bing Crosby, Mike Douglas, Frank Sinatra and Mohamed Ali. He was invited to appear on all the popular talk shows in the U.S. and Europe, performed with Rich Little for the Bob Hope Special at the age of 13; co-hosted for the Mike Douglas Show seen by 35 million TV viewers; represented Canada at International Song Festival in Tokyo where the sales of the song "Mirodi Iro Yane" reached 1 million copies. He was the most sought after artist of his generation with 5 albums to his credit and the youngest artist ever to perform at Place des Arts and at the Montreal Forum. René Simard's career has never stopped blooming and at the age of 35 he has an astonishing 47 albums to his credit, numerous TV engagements, as the host of his own shows (Le René Simard Show, R.S.V.P.) and for various TV specials. He has worked closely with the top artists of Québec (including his sister Nathalie) and of the world, and has become spokesperson for many important issues. He is now finally realizing a dream come true with his starring role in "Jeanne la Pucelle".

MARC POULIN (Bishop)

With many stage credits to his name, Marc's classical music and dramatic arts training have been particularly useful to his career. Among his many theatrical credits are "Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme" at Théatre du Nouveau Monde and "Une Nuit à Venise" at Théatre Maisonneuve. In addition, he has worked extensively in television and performed in many concerts. Recent TV appearances include "Jasmine" and "Lobby", both directed by Jean-Claude Lord, and lead film roles in "Hart to Hart" and "Laser Hawk". After doing several other regional productions, he was offered the role of Javert in the musical hit "Les Misérables", starting with the Montreal French/English production in 1990, then a tour of several Canadian cities. He then toured with 2 other companies, one of which went to Hawaii and the other most recently a U.S. production which took him to places like Las Vegas, Washington D.C., Texas, and California.
