CHAPTER 14

the next day 7:00am

Minda was awoken by the loud beep in her ear. She sat up in her bed and blinked her eyes to get a clear image. Then she went into the other room to check her messages. She had only one.
'Message one' BEEP
"Hi honey it's your mom call me when you get in bye."
Minda picked up her phone and dialed her mom's number.
"Hello?" "Hi daddy it's Minda mom called yesterday and I'm returning her call." "She just wanted to know if you could come home." "Oh yeah I haven't asked my boss yet hold on let call him on the other line."
Minda clicked over to the other line and dialed the studio number.
"Hello?" "Hi Drake it's Minda I need to speak to Lou." "Hold on let me transfer you." "Ok."
"Hi Minda what can I do for you?" A jolly voice came over the phone. "Well I really hate to do this to you but my brother just got in a really bad car accident and he's in the hospital and my mom wants me to come home for a couple of days to keep watch on the house while they stay at the hospital." "Well it is your first couple of days at work but since it is your family and he is in the hospital I'll say yes." "Oh thank you so much Lou you have no idea how much this means to me thank you so much!" "No problem but I expect you to work as hard as possible when you get back! I want this page to be the best it can!" "Yes Lou it will I promise! I'll be back by at least Wednesday." "Ok see you then bye." "Bye Lou."
Minda clicked over to her dad who was still waiting on the phone for an answer.
"Dad?" "Yeah I'm still here." "I can come home but I can only stay till Wednesday." "Ok call me when you get on the plane." "Ok bye." "Bye."
Minda hung up the phone and ran into the other room to start packing. She was almost done when her phone rang.
"Hello?" "Hi Minda it's Lance." "Oh hey Lance what's up?" "I need to ask you some things about Janine." "Oh really? Like what?" "Well what's her favorite color?" "Midnight blue." "What kind of flowers does she like?" "Daisies and roses." "Does she like chocolate?" "She doesn't like it she loves it!!" "Ok thanks." "So what are you going to do?" "I'm not sure yet but it involves those answers." "Well I'm sure she'll like it!" "So what are you doing?" "I was in the middle of packing." "For what?" "I have to go home for a couple if days." "Oh yeah because of your brother?" "Yep." "Did you need a ride to the airport?" "If you could give me one that would be great!" "Yeah when do you want me over?" "At like 10:45." "Ok see you later." "Bye Lance." "Bye."
Minda hung up her phone and was about to finish packing when her her door bell rang.
Minda went to front door and looked through the peep
hole and saw JC standing at her door. So she opened
and he looked at her in desperation.
"JC? What a surprise! What are you doing here?"
"Could I come in?" "Yeah sure. What's wrong?"
JC walked in without answering the question and
stood
in the middle of the room. Minda walked over to him
after closing the door.
"JC what's wrong?" Minda said concerned.
JC just stood there and looked into Minda's eyes.
Minda looked back at him in confusion.
"When are you leaving?" He finally said. "In about
30
minutes, why?" "Did that kiss mean anything to
you?"
"The kiss? JC I liked that kiss more than any kiss
I
have ever had. And I want to just run up to you
right
now and kiss you like that again. But I dunno,
something is holding me back. I don't know whether
I'm
just acting on impulse or on true feelings. I care
for you in my heart by my mind is telling me the
opposite, and if you care for me too, you'll give me
time to sort things out. When I look in your eyes,
I
can see how much you care for the people around you
so
please give me time to think more into it ok?" "I'm
sorry Minda." "Don't be." "I have never met anyone
like you before. You have the most intreging
thoughts
and views on life. No one has ever made me feel
like
this before. It's like when I first met you in the
hallway I got this feeling inside I'm not sure how
to
describe it but it was strong."
Right then and there Minda tears started to crawl
down
Minda's cheek. JC cupped Minda's cheek and wiped
away
a couple of her tears then kissed her cheek gently.
"I'm gonna go and I'll see you when you get back."
"JC?" "Yeah." "Thanks." "Your welcome and if you
need anything while your gone like someone to talk
to
you can call me." "Ok I'll see you when I get
back."
Minda then gave JC a hug and he wrapped his arms
around her as tight as he, could never wanting to
let
go.
When they released Minda gave JC a kiss on the cheek
and then he walked out of her apartment.
Minda went back into her bedroom and finished
packing
everything when her phone rang.
"Hello?" "I'm at your gate." "Oh hi Lance ok come
up."
Minda was in her room when Lance knocked on her
bedroom door.
"Hey! I'm all ready." "Minda what's wrong?" "Why
do
ask that I'm fine." "Well your eyes are a little
red,
like you were crying." "I'll tell you about it in
the
car but for now let's go." "Ok."
Minda locked her front door and they walked down
stairs and out to the street where Lance's car was
parked.

"So why were you crying?" "JC came over." "What
happened?" "Nothing bad. Just I don't know Lance."
"I'm totally lost." "Well Friday night he came back
to my apartment and we kissed and he came over about
a
half hour ago and told me how he felt about me and
asked how I felt about the kiss and I had so many
different things going through my minds at that
moment
that I told him I was unsure of what I felt. And I
am! It's like I get this feeling every time I'm
near
him but I don't know what it is." "Well maybe you
love him?" "How could I love him I just met him?"
"Love works in the weirdest ways and it can take
over
at anytime. Have you ever heard of love at first
sight?" "Yeah." "Well do you believe in it?" "I'm
not sure. I've always kind of thought it was to
good
to be true." "Have you ever experienced it?" "No."
"That's why your so confused." "I don't get it."
"Well your confused by something you've never
experienced before." "What haven't I experienced?"
"Love at first sight."
"What?" "Ok what did you feel when you first met
JC?"
"Relief." "Why?" "Because I didn't fall flat on
my
face." "Now I'm confused." "The first day I cam to
Transcon I was walking to Lou's office and I tripped
over something and JC caught me so I was relieved I
didn't fall." "Well after the relief." "I don't
remember." "Nothing at all?" "Well I had a
boyfriend
at the time but I thought JC was really cute."
"That
doesn't mean anything. Um.. how about the day you
met
JC properly?" "He seemed like a really nice guy
that
I liked a lot." "That's it!!" "What's it?" "You
just said you liked him a lot." "Yeah and?"
"That's
what your feeling you like him. And I think that
after you kissed him you got overwelmed with the
feelings of love." "Are you saying that I love
him?"
"Yeah." "Whatever."
A couple minutes later they arrived at the airport
and
Lance walked with Minda to buy her ticket. Minda
gave
Lance a big hug at the gate way and got on the
plane.

After what Lance had said Minda had more thoughts
running through her head than before.
About ten minutes before the plane landed Minda
called
her parents to tell them she was landing. She got
off
the plane and and saw a sign that said her name.
When
she got over to the sign she didn't relieze who was
holding it.
"Excuse me are you here to pick up Minda Greenberg?"
"Minda! You don't remember me?" "Am I supposed
to?"
"It's Jonny from next door." "Oh my gosh Jonny?"
"Yep it's me!" "Wow you look so..."
"Different?" "Yeah you could deffinatly say that!
I
haven't seen you in like two years!" "Yeah I didn't
get a chance to say bye cuz I was in the army."
"Yeah
I remember how did that go?" "It went good.
Anyways
your mom sent me to come pick you up so let's go."
"Ok."
Jonny grabbed Minda's suitcase and they left.
