CHAPTER 10
(At the party)
Kaityln was sitting at the same table as Justin, JC, and Lance. Joey was too scared to go near her, yet he didn't want to have to sit alone so he took Chris with him to the picnic table by the garden. While the four of them sat pool side(more like pool side/million dollar view). Lunch was served buffet style. The caterer was practically the best in town.
"I don't know about you guys, but I'm going straight for the seafood." Kaitlyn said eyeing the seafood table.
"Really? Me too. Let's go chow down!" Justin said jumping out of his chair and not even giving his decision a second thought.
"I'm heading for the Chinese platter!" JC clapped his hands together and got up.
"I'm just going to go eat some pizza." Lance said.
They all got the types of food they wanted and sat back down. The four of them got into a deep discussion about the upcoming tour, but Justin immediately stopped the conversation and apologized to Kaitlyn.
"Look sweetness, it's too bad that your not going on tour with us. Are you?" Justin said politely.
(Kaitlyn)
*What am I suppose to do?*
"Are you kidding? Kaitlyn got the job yesterday!" Lou bellowed in a happy laugh.
(Kaitlyn)
*Oh thanks Lou! I wanted to tell them in a SPECIAL way!*
"YOU DID?" JC said spitting out his drink.
"Why didn't you ever tell us?"Lance asked surprised.
"I didn't tell you cause I wanted to tell you in a special way, but that's okay." Kaitlyn said sheepishly.
Lou looked at her and frowned, "I'm sorry Kaitlyn, I didn't mean to ruin the surprise. No hard feelings?"
Kaitlyn laughed and answered, "Lou, your my new boss, i don't think I'm entitled to 'hard feelings'. It's alright."
Lou laughed once again and walked back over to Joey and Chris' table to give them the good news. Justin got out of his chair and hugged Kaitlyn close to him.
"YOU GOT THE JOB?" Joey screamed all the way from his table while Chris came over to congratulate her.
"Yes I got the job Joey! Meaning, I have the pleasure of bugging you for then next six months!" She laughed.
"GREAT!" Joey said sarcastically adding a wink.
"He'll be much better about the soda and pool thing tomorrow. He's just suffering from a temporary bruised ego!" Lance chuckled.
"I can't eat anymore! Let's play basketball!" Justin smiled.
"YOU can't eat anymore? Is it just me or did Justin Timberlake just say he didn't want to anymore?" Kaitlyn said amazed.
"Well sweetness, when it comes to basketball, my appetite is hungry for some air time! C'mon and play with us!" Justin said grabbing his basketball and running towards the court.
(KAITLYN)
*I can't even dribble! Not even throw the dumb ball into the hoop
granny style!*
"I think I'll stay here." She said calling after them.
"Oh no your not chica! Your going to play!" Joey said lifting Kaitlyn off the chair and into his arms.

*What am I suppose to do now? WHINE??*
Joey ran all the way to the court with Kaitlyn in his arms and put her down on the ground once he got there. Kaitlyn tried to walk away but Justin dribbled all the way in front of her before she had the time to notice. She bumped into his chin and grabbed her forehead.
"OW! That hurt!" She whined in pain.
"That hurt! Your head is like rock girl!"Justin said rubbing his chin. "Now you owe me a game."
"UUGGGHHH! Fine! But if I loose, and I know I will, then no one better open their mouth!" Kaitlyn warned them other four guys.
"Alright, I'll go easy on you then, here try to make a shot." Justin said handing her the ball.
"From here?" She said standing at the free-throw line.
"Well, would you like to try from the other side of the court?" He joked.
"No!" Kaitlyn took the ball, closed her eyes and shot. When she opened her eyes she caught a glimpse of the ball making it into the hoop.
"NOT FAIR! You actually do play basketball don't you?" Justin complained.
"NO! Lucky shot I guess."

Two hours later and a lot more points compared to Justin, Kaitlyn finally forfeit the game.
"I'll be a good sport and let you have this game." Kaitlyn said slyly.
"She beat you! YOU! She beat you man, she beat you bad!" Chris said patting Justin on the back.
"Shut up Chris! No, please...don't turn to being such a good sport on my account!" Justin said with a lot of attitude.
"Ok! I won't then. I beat Justin, I beat Justin!" Kaitlyn said dancing around him.
"Well, since you won, there's a little tradition we have when someone beats me at basketball!" Justin said with a chuckle.
"What's that?" Kaitlyn looked both confused and scared. As she finished asking the question, Joey, Chris and JC all helped pour the gallons of ice cold water on top of her head.
"Congratulations!" Justin said with his million dollar smile.

"Thanks for coming everyone! Remember to be at the studio by 11am tomorrow!" Lou said saying good-bye to them.
"Thanks again Lou. Today, was...well, very interesting." Kaitlyn said laughing.
"No, thank you! I'm glad you got to see the real NSYNC! I can't wait to have you on tour with us." Lou said shaking her hand.
"I can't wait!" She said with a smile and walked out of the front door. Kaitlyn walked over to JC and waited with him until Lance came over.
"So where's Joey?" JC asked impatient.
"He said he'll get a ride home with Chris and Justin."
"Why is that?" Kaitlyn smiled.
"Cause, well, in his words, 'you'll crumple him up, toss him into the washer and put him through the rinse cycle until the machine breaks!'".
Kaitlyn couldn't help but laugh at Joey's little phrases and how detailed they were. Even for Joey. The car ride was pretty quite once again. They were all tired. Kaitlyn was freezing cold from the ice cold water so Lance gave her his jacket. Once they got there, Lance saw her up and they said their good-byes.
Kaitlyn checked the time, "good, ten o'clock, Cheyanne should be awake still." Kaitlyn picked up the phone and dialed Cheyanne's number in Boston. Two rings later Cheyanne picked up the phone.
"Hello?"
"Cheyanne? It's me , Kaitlyn."
"Kaitlyn! It's so good to hear your voice. So how's everything down under?"
"Well, just the same. How are you settling in up there?"
"Oh, great. My roomate, Leyla is so nice."
"That's terrific."
"SO...."
"So what?"
"Something's up Kaitlyn, you have that funny tone in your voice."
Kaitlyn knew that Cheyanne knew her real well to know when she had something on her mind.
"Well, I quit my job at Disneyland."
"You what?" Cheyanne blurted out.
"I got a job at Transcontinetal Studios. And I'm going on tour with Nsync."
"That's great. But what's the problem?"
"What do you mean what's the problem?"
"I mean, I know there's more to this then your telling me."
"Well,I haven't been traveled for such a long time with the same people and I don't know how it's all going to turn out."
"Listen to me Kait, this is a once in a lifetime offer.I would hate to see you say no to it."
"I'm not saying no. I already said yes."
"GOOD! Now forget about Florida, me and your OLD life. Focus on your NEW life. For me?"
"Alright. For you. well, hey, I have to get up early in the morning. So I'll talk to you tomorrow."
"Aright then. Take cares from me."
"Take cares from me to."
"Oh and Kait?"
"Yeah? Don't forget to have fun."
"I won't. Love you."
"Love you too."
"Bye."
Kaitlyn hung up the phone and decided to just call it a night. For sure being on the road was going to be hectic. But with those five guys, who would complain?
