CHAPTER 18

(Jennifer's room)

"I don't know Jenni, it's seems like a little bit too much." Kaitlyn said looking at her new look.

"Kaitlyn, it looks great. Don't worry about anything. Trust me, you'll turn heads!" Jennifer said reassuring her.

(Kaitlyn)
*Oh I'll turn heads for sure! Once this skirt falls down and I trip in these shoes and fall flat on my face!*

Kaitlyn walked into the bathroom and looked into the full length mirror. Jennifer had put Kaitlyn in a long black skirt with an above the knee high slit. The baby pink top was a spaghetti and mesh top. Her four inch black strappy heels made her seem taller than Jennifer. Her make-up was natural but trendy. Her curly dishelved hair was now the beautiful auburn that it once was when she was younger, and it was loose and wavy on her shoulders.

"Pretty good for only half an hour to fix me and you up." Jennifer said smiling behind her into the mirror.

"Hey, your the pro here. Look at you in that blue dress. You look like a model." Kaitlyn complimented her. Jennifer looked good too. She was wearing a blue sleeveless dress with a diamond like slit trim.

"Well, we better get to that party downstairs. You go find Cody and go ahead. I'm going to meet Lynn and the rest of them. And if you see Justin, just cover for me." Kaitlyn said walking out the door.

"You know I would always cover for you." Jennifer called to her from the bathroom."

Kaitlyn made her way down the hallway and passed by the guys rooms to check if they were still there. They seemed to all have left.

(Kaitlyn)
*By now I'm sure they're all eating the Turkey without me.*

Kaitlyn went further down the hall and knocked on Lynn's room. Jonathan opened the door and smiled at her.

"Hi. My daddy and Lynn will be out soon." Jonathan said so maturely.

"Alrgiht. I'll just wait out here." Jonathan nodded and closed the door. Kaitlyn waited outside of the door and just twirled her little black handbag.

Within a few minutes, Lynn walked out along with Jonathan and Randy. Lynn looked great in a red jacket and skirt suit. Randy wore a business jacket with a hunter green shirt inside and black suit pants. Jonathan was shy but Kaitlyn could see him in a little tux with a white shirt and tie.

"You all look great!" Kaitlyn exclaimed.

"Well, look who's talking." Lynn said intrigued by Kaitlyn's outfit.

"It's just something my sister let me borrow. Well, we better get going. Now you know what to do right?" Kaitlyn asked as they stepped into the elevator.

"Yes." Lynn answered.

"Good, I really do hope you and Justin can have some good quality time before we leave for Detroit." Kaitlyn said biting her lip.

(Kaitlyn)
*Bad habit. I got to stop doing that!*

Lynn put her hand on her shoulder and smiled, "Kaitlyn, thank you so much. From the bottom of my heart."

Kaitlyn didn't know what exactly to say, she just smiled and continued walking.

(Downstairs in the Ballroom)

"Has anyone seen Kaitlyn?" Justin asked worried.

JC looked over to Lance and the two smiled. JC answered, "I don't know, I think she is still getting ready. She's probably on her way down though."

"Oh wait, there's her sister and brother, why don't we go ask them?" Lance said ushering the two other guys towards the two siblings at the punch bowl.

"Hey Jennifer." Lance said greeting her.

"Oh hi. Lance right?" She was so bad at remembering names.

"Yeah. Justin here was wondering if you've seen Kaitlyn." Lance smiled.

"Really? Well, Justin, she should be on her way down actually." Jennifer said winking at Lance's funny look.

(Jennifer)
*I wonder if they know anything about Kaitlyn liking Justin.*

"Ok, so you guys enjoying yourselves?" Justin asked kindly.

"Oh yeah. This is really cool. Must be exciting to have thousands of girls throw themselves at you." Jennifer joked.

"Oh yeah, they throw themselves at us, that's for sure..." Lance laughed.

"Literally." JC finished. They were now laughing like crazy, until Justin turned to look at the front doors to see Kaitlyn smiling there. Justin's ocean blue eyes just shined when the light hit him.

"Umm...I'll be right back." Justin said walking away.

Jennifer, Lance and JC all looked at where he was going and turned to each other.

"You know she likes him don't you?" Jennifer smiled at the two guys.

Lance and JC just looked at each other then looked at Jennifer and nodded.

--------------------

Justin made his way through the crowd of people and almost reached her when a familiar voice came on the microphone.

"Justin, I know you are out there somewhere." Jonathan's little voice echoed around the room.

(Justin)
*It almost sounds like...no, it can't be...Jonathan?*

Justin suddenly turned to look toward the make shift stage. He couldn't see the stage over the many people so he rushed through the crowd and stopped when he saw Jonathan standing there smiling. His mom and dad were there too.

"Oh there you are, I was waiting for you!" Jonathan said with such an adorable five year old's voice.

Justin ran up onto the stage and swept Jonathan into his arms. From a distance Kaitlyn could see how happy the four of them were. Justin let Jonathan go after a good ten minutes and turned to his mom and dad.

"What are you guys doing here?" Justin asked hugging each of them.

"Well, Kaitlyn called us and invited us to come up to see you." Lynn explained still enveloped in his embraced.

"Kaitlyn? Really? Well, I'm just so happy you're here." Justin said with a huge grin.

"There's nothing more I would rather want in this world then to see my son." Randy said giving him one more hug. Justin was about his height but Justin was obviously more buff.

"There's nothing more in this world that would make me more thankful on Thanksgiving then to have my family with me." Justin said hugging all of them in a big group hug.

---------------------------

After about an hour of partying, eating and more partying, Justin took off from his family and decided to go thank Kaitlyn for bringing them out to Chicago for the weekend. Justin found Cody talking to JC while Joey and Jennifer looked like they were enjoying each other's company. "Hey you guys. Did you know anything about Kaitlyn setting this up?" Justin asked once he approached the four.

"Actually, me and Jennifer were the only ones that knew." Cody explained.

"Well, have you seen her? I saw her earlier but I got sidetracked and I lost her." Justin said looking around the room.

"Umm, I think she's out by the pool." Jennifer said smiling.

"Ok thanks, I'll go look for her there," Justin was about to walk away when he turned back to Joey and Jennifer, "Is it just me or are you two flirting?"

Jennifer blushed a little and Joey gave Justin a look that said "SHE LIKES ME". Justin shook his head and walked off in search of Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn came around to the group once Justin left and JC practically gagged when he saw Kaitlyn.

"KAITLYN! I thought you were out by the pool." JC exclaimed.

"No, I've been talking to Diane the whole evening." Kaitlyn said curious.

"Well, you better get out there." Jennifer instructed her.

"Why?" Kaitlyn said curious as to why they wanted her outside.

"Well, no particular reason, just, well....there's something waiting outside for you. Or actually someone." JC said eyeing her.

"Well, alright, I'll go outside, but if this is some kind of joke, someone will seriously get hurt!" Kaitlyn turned around and started to walk out until she turned to Jennifer, "are you flirting with him?" Kaitlyn said pointing to Joey.

"Well..." Jennifer blushed again.

"I knew we should have sent you to an all girl Catholic school!" Kailtyn teased then walked out.

Jennifer and JC looked at each other, "they were made for each other."

(Outside by the pool)

Justin was about to give up searching for Kaitlyn when he noticed her looking around by the lounge chairs. He casually walked up to her and poked her in the back. Kaitlyn jumped with fear and because she was tickilish too.

"JUSTIN! Geez, don't sneak up on me like that again!" She pointed her finger at him.

"Sorry sweetness. Hey, I just wanted to thank you so much for everything you've done for me tonight, you don't know how much this means to me." Justin wrapped his arms around Kaitlyn. His strong arms practically blew her away. Her face came onto his shoulder and she could feel his gentle skin on hers. He could smell the sweet scent in her hair that just made him hold her closer.

Kaitlyn gently pulled away and looked at him, "you deserved it cutie. Plus I just love that little brother of yours. He's so adorable."

Justin grinned and replied softly, "well, you know he's a Timberlake."

"And what does that make you?" Kaitlyn teased him.

"Oh shut up!" He said looking down at her. " I haven't seen you the whole night. You look beautiful."

"Beautiful as in a potato sack right? Or beautiful as in Julia Roberts as the hooker in Pretty Woman?" She giggled.

Justin's blue eyes looked straight into her own and he answered, "just beautiful."

The two of them stood there in silence until they heard the song "All my Life come one."

Kaitlyn closed her eyes and said, "I just love this song."

Justin smiled at her precious look then stepped away slowly and took her right hand in his, " will then will you do me the honor of dancing with me?"

"Of course. How could I say no?" She said as he kissed her hand then twirled her around.

"You can't." Justin slowly walked towards her and took her into his embrace. His arms went around her waist and hers around his neck. They looked at each other and smiled.

Kaitlyn rested her head on his shoulder as he stroked her hair. To them it was wrong, but it felt right. Towards the end of the song, Justin pulled Kaitlyn to his face and looked at her. She focused on only him. On his beautiful eyes, curly blonde hair and smooth soft lips. The song ended and they were less than millimeters apart. Justin looked into Kaitlyn's eyes and pulled her closer to him. He took his hand and cupped it around her cheek. The two both leaned in and kissed. It was short and sweet.

Kaitlyn quietly whispered, "Justin I don't think...."

Justin interrupted her and put a finger over her lips. His hand trailed over the shape of her mouth as she closed her eyes in pure pleasure, he took his finger under her chin and their lips met in a deep passionate kiss. Kaitlyn had her arms wrapped around Justin as his arms pulled her as close to him as possible. As if there was no limit of space in between the two of them. They both forgot about the party, their family's, the world. Everything had stopped. Everything except the two of them. It was a picturesque scene. The two of them were by the bright blue pool in each others embrace. Kaitlyn gently pulled away and looked away. She could feel Justin looking at her and she couldn't stand not giving into those gorgeous blue eyes.

"Justin, this isn't right." Kaitlyn said softly.

"It's right Kaitlyn. It might not seem like it, but it feels right."

"I don't know Justin." Kaitlyn said turning away.

"It's right Kaitlyn. Nothing more in this world seems right then this." Justin said whispering into her ear.

"No, we shouldn't be doing this. I'm sorry Justin. I'm sorry." Kaitlyn said breaking away from his embrace and running off in tears past Jennifer, Joey,Cody,JC, Chris, and Lance who had all been watching by the garden.

Jennifer rushed after her as Justin just stood there frowning at the guys who couldn't bear look at their now sad friend. Kaitlyn rushed off up the staircase and rushed into her room. She closed the door, pushed her back against the door and slid down to the floor and put her head down onto her knees as she started to cry....
