Pool-Dog's Si The Talon
This was the first car I ever owned- a 1990 Eagle Talon TSI AWD. 195 turbocharged horses, fed through a 5 speed tranny to an all wheel drive system- what does that all mean? It means that it was fast as hell, and just as fun! I owned this particular car from June of '95 to August of '96, and added about 15,000 miles to its odometer in that time. As much as I loved it, it had to go. A transmission problem developed in May of '96, and it still had a problem after getting fixed. I needed a reliable car for an internship that I was heading into, and would be traveling a lot, and this car wouldn't make it, so I had to sell it off to a used car dealer. Even though it had many problems throughout my ownership I still enjoyed it. Gray leather interior, six speaker stereo w/EQ, 5 speed, AWD, and that turbo engine all added up to a good time. I guess some would say I came from "The Dark Side", moving from DSM to Honda, and I don't regret it, but at least I know first-hand their capabilites and have nothing against them. I just wish I knew then what I know now about how to easily improve their performance...

The CRX became the replacement for the Talon. A big change! The CRX had a totally different feel to it in the turns- in low speed turns it had a feeling of rotating around you, a different feel than I've had in any other car, due to it's short wheelbase. But the Talon could really stick in the turns, and had a perfectly neutral handling feel to it-if you pointed it somewhere it went there. I had to get used to the understeering nature of the CRX though, and will eventually have my Si handling similar to the Talon by taking out some of the pre-set understeering characteristic that Honda intentionally puts in its cars for safety... If I dig up some more pictures of the Talon I'll get them up here, but I don't have many, so it may be tough.
