A black, white and tan variety still carries the name "King Charles Spaniel". The red "ruby" type shares it's title with a precious gem. there is also a black and tan variety as well as a "Blenheim" which is red and white. Weighing up to 12 pounds, these playful dogs now make beloved pets for all people, not just kings and queens.
