Most Italian Greyounds are outgoing, friendly and very affectionate and , unlike many small dogs, they rarely bark. Italian Greyhounds are very intelligent and many are trained for both obedience and agility trials. They are not as fragile as they appear. They are not prone to genetic health problems, but many have problems with teeth. They are hounds and as such they have very little doggy odour and rarely need bathing, but nails must be trimmed regularly.
