The Miniature Pinscher is a small, compact dog, not under 10 inches and not over 12.5 inches at the shoulder. The dog should appear well balanced, sturdy and short, coupled with a smooth, hard short and lustrous coat. It can be clear red, stag red, black and tan, or chocolate and tan. It is distinguished by it's hackney-like gait.
