Freeman "The Natural" Barr, sucessfully defended his NABO Middleweight title on September 15, 1998, in Punta Gorda, Florida. We now want the WBO world title. We are ready to move into the "big money" for 1999. During this past year Freeman had articles in Ring Magazine and the International Boxing Digest.

NABU Lightweight Champion

David "Diamond D" Armstrong originally fought for the WBO Intercontinental Lightweight title in April 1997, getting a draw decision against Tanveer Ahmed, in a bout dominated by David.  On the Internet broadcast in May 1997, he won the NABU championship, stopping Cuban Alexis Barcelay in round four.  In August 1997 he fought undefeated Thomas Seiler,of Germany, and won the same WBO Intercontinental title he had fought for in April, stopping Seiler in round ten.  On October 11, 1997, on short notice, he fought Artur Grigorian for the WBO World title and lost a hard fought twelve round decision to the undefeated champion. He then won the NBA world title by stopping "Rude" Rudy Lunsford in the ninth round on March 17, 1998. Armstrong, who had an article in International Boxing Digest as a "New Prospect," looks forward to more success and another opportunity to win a major world title.
 
 

 

Steven Frank

Steven Frank, originally from Guyana, joined the SJC Professional Boxing Team in 1997.  After one tuneup victory, he fought Bill Durbin, of Evansville, Indiana, for the NBA world title in Nassau, Bahamas and won his first title impressively!  Steve lives in Brooklyn, New York, and trains in Ft.  Myers.  He was a member of the 1984 Olympic Team and defected to the U.S. that year.  He looks forward to more big fights in 1998.  Good luck Steve!
