Here are Gloria Loring's remarks regarding her three top choices:
#1--"Those Silent Nights" by Louis Brown: "This is a really well-crafted pop song by two writers who know what they are doing. It speaks in images and comparisons that are simple and effective. I especially love the line "the best way to find our way by heart." This song reminds me of the classic Johnny Rivers hit "Slow Dancing" which also speaks to a situation we all know and relate to easily."
#2--"Remember" by Louis Cate: "This is a lovely country style song that I believe would do well if recorded by one of the big C&W stars. It's well written and seems to speak directly from the writer's heart. Good writing."
#3--"Criminal" by Angie Nussey: "Some songs are not ones that prompt you to sing along but communicate with an urgency, a kind of "listen to me!" quality. This song does that. It impresses with its stream of consciousness and vivid images. I hope this writer-artist keeps telling the truth as she sees it. It works."
