R&H Storm Shelters offers custom made storm/storage shelters at a reasonable price. Our shelters are custom made of the finest quality products built on site. Protect yourself and your loved ones from fierce storms. These shelters are also ideal for storage purposes in the event of y2k shortages. R&H Storm Shelters covers an approximate 50 mile radius in and around Springfield, Illinois. In some instances R&H Storm Shelters will build outside the Springfield area. Inquiries are welcome.
Above is an artist rendition of the shelter. Check back soon as photos of actual shelters built by R&H Storm Shelters are added. The shelters are set partially above ground (as pictured). Construction may depend on the lay of the land in that different elevations for the shelter can be used to accomodate flat or hilly conditions. The shelter walls and roof are made of steel-reinforced concrete and the unit is set on a 6 inch thick concrete support slab. These shelters can be placed almost anywhere- on large expansive properties or on manufactured or mobile home lots.
The shelter measures 8 feet long by 7 feet tall by 6 feet wide. The entrance door is made of steel with a pad lock. Door is available in 5' x 3' and 4' x 3' sizes. The door jams are poured into concrete. The shelter also has a two foot secondary hatch on top and an air vent.
The end walls, side walls, floor, and roof are 6 inches thick.
Additionally priced optional features include a light, battery standby light, and standby power generator. Shelters are available on a retail per unit basis.
