~TAYLOR'S CHAT TRANSCRIPT #1~

AW's Woman of Many Faces: Taylor Stanley (Remy)

Remy (Taylor Stanley, pictured with Mark Mortimer as Nick) came into Bay City with a bang.

DIGEST ONLINE: How do you like daytime so far? STANLEY: It's a lot of work, but I love it. The people are so incredibly nice, and I've worked with basically the same people, so it isn't like I've been popping around.

DIGEST ONLINE: Mark Mortimer [Nick]... STANLEY: Yep, and Dahlia Salem [Sofia] and Linda Dano [Felicia]. And it's been wonderful. I mean I've had a few days where I've gone home with my head feeling like it was going to explode.

DIGEST ONLINE: It must be a little overwhelming. STANLEY: It is. It's very much like entering a family, like being married into a family. And they all know how to work off each other, and how to get it to flow, and not only when you first start out are you creating a character, but you're trying to do it all in one take! [Laughs] And it's not the easiest thing in the world. But everyone at work has been so wonderful. Mark, Judi [Evans Luciano, Paulina] and Linda work with me before we actually tape the scenes -- we go through the scene, learn the lines. That's really important to me because it is a weird adjustment.

DIGEST ONLINE: Your first were great -- you blended in pretty easily.

STANLEY: Thank you, thank you. I feel very comfortable, it's hard not to. They made me feel comfortable.

DIGEST ONLINE: So who did you screen test with? STANLEY: Mark. It was easy to see him again [when I showed up for work], sort of. "He said, 'Oh, you're the one! You're the one they... ' It's a great character, a great opportunity to play different levels... you know, really sweet, really idiotic, kind of funny, kind of tough. So far, I've been able to play almost everything, they run the gamut. Just to [have so much written for your character] when you first [begin], I couldn't ask for [anything more].

DIGEST ONLINE: Are we going to find out a little more about you as we go on?

STANLEY: Yes, but I think it's going to be a slow process. I'm just finding out more about me. Remy's definitely someone who could be whoever someone else wanted her to be. So, it will take a little while to find out who she really is. She adjusts to a situation instantly. She can change her personality like that, she manipulates herself, which is kind of a bad thing. Maybe we'll see that? They can do just about anything with the character, which is wonderful writing.

DIGEST ONLINE: Will develop a little bit of a crush on Nick?

STANLEY Oh, yeah. Who wouldn't? I think she developed a crush on Nick the first minute he hit her with the motorcycle. With someone like Remy, I don't think she'd ever be obvious about it. But I think she has to have a little bit of a crush on him. Plus, he's her hero. He saved her, he got her a job, he saved the day for her. And anybody would have a crush on him, which doesn't mean she's going to be so nice to him. [Laughs] I have no idea, though, I'm guessing. I really have no idea what's going to happen with the character up until even today. [There's] a lot of flirting with Nick, and that's where I think the crush is.

DIGEST ONLINE: Where is Remy staying?

STANLEY: I'm going to be living with Sofia.

DIGEST ONLINE: Interesting! You know about their whole history, right? DIGEST ONLINE: Did you ever watch AW before? STANLEY: I didn't. I started watching when I got the part. When I watch TV, I watch Bravo, HBO and PBS. I don't even watch Friends. I mean to say, I don't watch TV a lot. It's one of my aunt's soaps, and when I first told her I was auditioning for it, she [shrieked], "Linda Dano!" I think as a little kid I would kind of flip around to the different soaps, but I didn't know which one was which. I was surprised when I was watching it -- I fell in love with the reality of it in a way. I'm really glad to be a part of it.

DIGEST ONLINE: So what's ahead this summer for Remy? STANLEY: I have no idea. Remy is honestly a character they can do just about anything with, and I think they're holding out for that.

DIGEST ONLINE: Will Remy have any other kind of connection to Bay City that will surface? STANLEY: I don't think it's necessary as far as the character goes, but I don't know. I guess anything's possible.
