This was my first time to GenCon since it moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. It's a hard place to do demos but the tournaments ran well. The VS card game had some great displays in the main CCG room and Axis & Allies had great ones in the exhibit hall. Dean Haglund (Langly from the X-Files TV show) was nice enough to mention my presence to potential players. Glad to see Special Agent John again.
Here's the basic beginner's tournament.

Another GenCon tradition: the tower of cards. I saw many X-Files cards in there.
"Hey Mr. Thing! I heard you couldn't beat The Hulk."
His response: "It's Clobberin' time!"

Thank you to everyone who made it out to the 1999 Origins and GenCon gaming conventions. It was nice to see some old faces as well as the dozens of new faces willing to learn the game.
Special thanks goes to: John Myer, David May, Mark Bordenet, Dave Frank, Tim Frank, Darin Hinners, and Gwen Kestrel & the rest of the convention workers and volunteers.
GENCON 1999
Here's the hundreds of gamers playing The X-Files CCG Tournament. Just kidding; this is the main CCG room at GenCon 1999.
Many people were willing to learn the game; demos ran all day and night. The display in the background attracted a lot of people; never seen before pictures and charts were impressive. Thanks to Special Agent John, a limited Quick Start Basic Rules card was given away to all who attended. You could only get this card at the show and is not the same as on this website.
Here's some happy winners who just didn't want to stop playing (I can't blame them). I am glad novices were well receptive to the game.
Here's me with our youngest fan, my son Lincoln. He was only 10 weeks old. Heck, he was only 5 weeks old at the Origins show. What a trooper!
