ICWF Handbook: Character Development History
Whats the story with your wrestler? How did he become a wrestler? What hard ships did he go through in his life? Who trained him? Where was he born? Where did he grow up? Why become a wrestler? Invent a history for your wrestler people. This helps you as you can always refer to it in your roleplays. When you say he is veteran and has held many belts.. never make these belts up. Make a realistic background as it adds an extra dimension to your wrestler. If you have a stupid one.. you will just be taunted. Here you can explain why he is a rule breaker. Why he is a loner or why he loves the fans. As you continue with your career add to his history. This helps you as you feel that you know the wrestler. The mistake some people make is making a wrestler that they can not roleplay. That is like someone who lives in america with little knowledge about Australia, basing a character around the guy from crocodile dundee. NO kangeroos do not hope down the streets and dingos do not steal babies. If you are going to create a wrestler, take the time to work on him. If he’s not from your own homecountry or a country that you know well, make sure you learn a little about the country so that you can get the facts straight. If you create a good believable backgroundstory for your wrestler you will have a great "tool" to use when you roleplay him. Outline
