Yeah, I know you're wonderin', com'on admit it! You're thinking "Why the name Backstreet: Balls to the Walls?" right? Here goes... In the January 2000 issue of Rolling Stone (#832), the one with the Backstreet Boys with their pants down on the cover, AJ uses the phrase. During the interview in the story AJ says in one part, "The Beatles started this, they were actually the first boy band, and then, nowadays, in this whole Nineties genre, it was us. We came in balls to the walls, put our foot in the door and then walked right through it. We became leaders. . . .As long as we stay one step ahead, and we stay leaders, hopefully we will always be on top."
