Chapter 3

My mom nearly had a conniption fit when I finally came home. I got grounded for a week, she must've been in a charitable mood. I still had my computer, so I wasn't tottally cut off from the outside world.

On Tuesday, I talked to Jesse. She was all excited. Brian had asked her to go away with him to a lodge up North. I told her to call me when she got back. I wanted every detail.

On Thursday, I talked to Linda. Now, Linda was very depressed. Apparently her and Kevin were having a huge fight about him going away to college. They weren't speaking at all to each other. She was really sad so I told her to keep he chin up.

On Friday... I was released. Nick, Linda, Kevin, and myself wen to the Crossroads Mall. Nick and Kevin sat up front, while Linda and me were in back.

"I'm still mad at him," Linda said.

"You shouldn't be mad at him. He's going away to college to further his education."

"I know. I guess I'm not mad at him. I'm mad at the fact that he's going away. I miss him already."

"Yeah. Hey, did you hear about Jesse and Brian?" I asked Linda.

"No, why?" She asked puzzled.

"They went to a lodge up North for the weekend. Just two of them." We could see that Nick and Kevin were listening to our conversation.

"That is so sweet!"Linda slapped Kevin on the shoulder.

"What?" He said. We all laugher hysterically.

We all went inot the mall together, but I could see Linda and kevin wanted to be alone. I told them Nick and I were gonna go look at something.

"What was that all about?" Nick asked me.

"Couldn't you see they wanted to be alone?" It was almost a 'duh' phrase.

"Oh, so were do you want to go?" Nick asked.

"I want to go to Camelot and get a cd."

I ended up buying the 'Austin Power's: The Spy Who Shagged Me' soundtrack. I absolutely loved that Lenny Kravitz song.

As we were walking through the mall, I spotted one of those photo boothes,"Come on," I said.

I dragged Nick into it.

"Smile pretty!" He said.

I ended up looking really goofy. The second picture he messed up my hair until I was beyond recognition.

"Nick, these pictures are going to look horrific!"

"No, they won't. You're in them!"

I looked over at him like he was nuts (which, of course, he is).

For the third and final picture I was sure he was going to do something absolutely awful.

He kissed me on the cheek.
