~^Sellouts^~

what exactly are sell outs? bands who become popular? bands whose music becomes accepted by society? bands which begin dressing in name brand clothing? what classifies a sell out? maybe "sell outs" are bands or people who have gone mainstream, become popular, accepted, are liked by everyone, are played on the top 20, whatever. or maybe they're people who are having success and are just playing music. why does every band have to fit under a title or category? music should be listened to becuz it's good, not becuz it's still hardcore. a good band can have music that is played on the radio. it can have music that is played on mtv. it can be music that is only heard at gigs. i don't think music should be classified by where u hear it. if u can get a message out of the music that is meaningful to u and if u like it, great for u. perhaps a different person doesn't get the same message and that's great for them too.

i'm sick and tired of hearing that korn, the offspring and hole have sold out. people come up with stories that they're only doing it for the money, for the attention, to get noticed, to prove a point, and on and on and on. ok, *i'm sorry* but fuck that. music is music. bottom line. in many ways, music is what makes the world work. it classifies the way people act and dress. but who says it has to be that way? i dress kinda preppy, but mostly i just dress like me, and i listen to any music i like. that is usually hole, korn, offspring, etc., when they were just starting out and as they are now. that doesn't mean i need to have spiked hair or dress kinderwhore. i am just me. and music is just music.

if u wanna say that a band is a sellout, maybe in yr opinion they actually are. but just becuz a band has found success doesn't mean they can't make good music anymore. good music is good music. and music is music. and we are just who we are. as courtney love best says in her new song celebrity skin, *hooker, waitress, model actress, o just go nameless*
